Are all skin warts caused by hpv?
Cauliflower look-like warts on the finger. Would this be caused by hpv? would an over the counter medication take it away?
Probably not HPV, even though there are tons of strains (i'm under the impression that HPV is only sexually transmitted). A dermatologist will be able to tell you what you have, but i have found that there is a home remedy of putting garlic on a wart (similar to what you described) for 12 hours. Be careful though because the wart will disappear, but a wart blister will occur that is the same size as the piece of garlic used (only use it as big as the wart is, i used a whole clove and had a blister the same size as the toe the wart was on, couldn't wear a shoe for a week). But doctors can freeze them off or you can find something that might work over the counter. Good Luck!

You would really have to check in with your doctor to know what you have for certain.

Yes warts any where on the body are caused by one of the hundred or so Human Papilloma Virus types. HPV are number in the order they were found.
In most situations warts are site specific mean hand and feet warts stay in the host skin area where genital HPV types affect the genital tissue or the mucous of the cervix anal or oral area.
Hand and feet warts are not caused by the HPV types that are found in the genital area. 30 or so Human Papilloma Virus types are considered STI because they are mostly transmitted during sex or sex play.
Over the counter wart medications are for hand, feet warts not in our on the genital area.
Read some of the labels and good luck at removing the wart with over the counter meds…if the fail always know your dermatolgist has stronger meds that can remove the wart.
