How do you remove warts from kids?
September 8th, 2008 by admin
My 4 year old has a wart right on his finger that’s pretty unsightly and its already interfering with how he holds a pencil.
Are there any home or over the counter remedies to get rid of warts on kids, that actually work. I wanted to try other methods before I take him in to get it frozen off - I doubt he’ll think that’s so great.
I had a wart for a long time when i was a kid. Finally my mom bought some compound w and i put it on every night the key is to put duck tape on it. I repeated this process every night and it went away. I guess a band aid would work just as well…. But i think the duct tape has more of a grab to take off layer by layer

Unfortunately, most over - the - counter creams and salves will either take a while to work (e.g. several weeks to a few months), or will simply not work at all. It’s always best to get it frozen off - it’s pretty much painless.

There is actually a wart freeze sold over the counter. It is painless and great to use on kids. You can find it at Walmart.

You can use these wart bandages (im not exactly sure what they’re called but you can buy them @ most drugstores) also try freeze away, it sting a little right when u use it but the wart will fall off soon.

Compound W has wart removing bandages (just look like regular band aids) you can buy at any drugstore. If over the counter meathods or ineffective, if the wart lasts more than two weeks, I would suggest bringing him to a pediatrician.

Really the best way is to freeze them off. I had warts on my wrist and hand a few years back and the doctor froze them off and they came back so I went to Wal-Mart and bought Dr. Scholls Freeze Away (pretty sure thats what its called, but its definitely Dr. Scholls) It worked great and they never came back. It might scare him at first, but it doesnt hurt as bad as you might think. Just read the instructions carefully and follow them to a T and they will go away.

this is so ironic because i just got back from the doctor from getting my wart removed in my foot..
theyre are two ways to remove warts in kids and adults:
a) they use a liquid nitrogen treatment ( freezing) not too painful and only makes a blister- this happens a few times.
B) or a laser treatment, youre numbed out and they burn it off.. more painful
I reccomend the freezing because its less painful and dosenot take as long.

about 2 years ago i developed a wart on my finger which seemed to happen over night. i ran to walmart to fine any thing they had to help make it go away. I tried all the expensive products 1st thinking they must be better. NO HELP. So out of desperation i picked up a box of the wart remover patches. OH MY GOD THEY ARE AWESOME!!!!! I would highly recommend them to everyone.
