What are warts? How long does it take to cure this? Is therer any at all? Do they spread to others?
i had a wart once. i went to the doctors office and they used liquid nitrogen or something on it. it didnt hurt that bad. it just felt cold mostly. it went away and i had no problems after that. i think they can spread though if it touches other stuff.

on the bottom of my feet.
I had deep plantars warts on my right foot. I had three successive surgeries to remove them and after each very painful surgery the warts quickly grew back larger than before. When I told the podiatrist that I didn't want any additional surgery he suggested that I try applying triamcinolone ointment (a common corticosteroid ointment) twice each day underneath a band-aid on the bottom of my foot. Within two weeks my plantars warts were gone, never to return. Thanks Dr - but why didn't you tell me this option before the three very painful surgeries?

Ok, so i know the best option is to go see a doctor, so don't tell me something I don't already know. But I just want some piece of mind about this before I do.
I've had a small bump near the opening to my vagina. It's been there ever since I can remember. Well recently I was in the shower and while washing I noticed the bump was a little bigger. It just kind of scratched off too. It sort of looked like three little cells stuck together. It didn't hurt, and it came off easy like a skin tag. I have looked at pictures all over the internet and it looks nothing like all the scary pictures of warts. I mean, this thing was TINY and not red, and not sore, didn't itch. Well it came back again and like before, it just sort of scratched off. It doesn't hurt when it comes off. I think I found another one now in the crease where my thigh connects.
Can anyone help? Maybe someone who has warts and knows what they are like?
I'm not promiscuous either. Neither is the bf. So I'm dumbfounded
I also wanted to add that I do have an insulin resistance problem and the website listed below mentioned that people with insulin resistance are more prone to skin tags.
I've never really gotten skin tags before, maybe a few. Now why in the vaginal region? I have found a few EXTREMELY tiny ones, about the size of a grain of sand that look like a regular skin tag. But the one that I found first is the one that worries me because it looks like a few skin tags attached.
AND… I am in college and still on the family insurance, but I don't exactly want my parents knowing I'm getting tested for STD's. Sounds childish and immature, but my parents are EXTREMELY unreasonable when it comes to that stuff. What can I do to keep information like that off the bill? Isn't there some sort of confidentiality now because I'm over 18?
If you shave then rest easy its probably a skin tag just like the ones almost everone gets in their armpits and it will keep coming back unless you have a doctor freeze it off.If you had warts or herpes then you would probably have more than one lone bump. If it makes you feel better I got a skin tag in the same spot and I freaked out forever and when finally I got my pap the doctor didn't say anything so I pointed it out and he said thats just a skin tag I was so relieved. Anyways after a while it just really didn't bother me anymore. but ya if its small and just slightly darker than the color of your skin its probably a skin tag. Hope I helped, try not to stress and you should still see a doctor if for nothing more than you're peace of mind.

My roomate is dating a boy with genital warts, she will probably contract this disease. If she does how easy would it be for her to give it to me? I heard you can get it from washing our underwear together using a blanket that someone with genital warts had sex on, from the toilet or in the shower? Im really worried. I dont want this STD.
ONLY through sexual activity.
So you would have to be having intercourse with her or very close genital-to-genital contact to catch it.
It CANNOT be spread by using the toilet after her, touching other parts of her body, kissing her, shaking hands with her etc. There is no reason for paranoia.
My parents felt paranoid about being around me when I caught it and it was SO hurtful, I've never got over how bad it made me feel.
Herpes is dormant for about 85% of the time anyway, and cannot be passed even during intercourse when it is. If you were a man having unprotected sex with her, as long as you avoided contact during her outbreaks, your chance of catching it would only be 5-10% a year having intercourse several times a week.

I've been with my husband for 12yrs. And have 4 children with and as far as I knew he has also been faithful. Just been told I have the hpv without the warts. Can it be dormant for all those years? Would it have shown during any of my pregnacy's or my yearly pap smears? Does he now have to make a doctor's app.?
it could have been dormant all those years. but i would think it would have shown up after pregnancies as thats when some abnormalities show up. hard to say!! but as for your husband, there is currently no test for men for HPV. sorry. so you will have to trust that he says he didnt cheat.
so sorry that really is a hard one!!! they still are learning so much about HPV but they do know it can lay dormant for yearssss. good luck!
