How to cure common warts?

September 2nd, 2008 by admin

I m having common warts on my hand for almost 2 years, and i cant seem to get rid of them. Any suggestions or remedy?

Objective: kill all the tissue that has the wart tissue. Leave any virus alive and it can re-infect you.

What's out there? You usually use acid to burn it off or you freeze it off. Both work if you get it all. Acid is cheaper but freezing it is faster. You want to make sure you don't hit unaffected skin though as that's going to hurt and get pretty ugly.

What type of acid…..commonly salicylic acid.

If I had to choose a product I'd look to DuoFilm. Has both Salicylic acid and Lactic acid so you are using acid to burn off the wart tissue. Its a liquid in the bottle but has an ingredient called flexible collodion which will turn it rubbery and keep it in place once exposed to air for a little while.

A doctor can burn them off! I've heard if you put a piece of bandaid tape over a wart and leave it on for 2 weeks the wart will fall off!

I have used a product called 'Wart-Off'- it think it's an acid, and it works eventually. You apply it every day and put a band-aid over it, and it takes about 3 weeks.

But a month ago I got a product from the chemist- sorry can't remember the name- but it consisted of liquid nitrogen in a little steel bottle, and an applicator that consisted of a small plastic spike and a little cylinder of foam. You put the foam onto the spike, then push the applicator into the bottle: the foam freezes, and you press it onto the wart for about 15 seconds. It hurts a little: but it freezes the wart, which dropped off after a week.

Very easy and I'm sure if you describe the kit to your chemist, they'll be able to give it to you.

i had tried everything and this worked for 3 warts on my hands.
you can find it easily in any pharmacy, those acid concoctions are not fun to deal with. don't use them…
